About

This multipurpose building set within the rural town of Morwell aims to incorporate an adaptable living space on the first floor while providing an open ground floor workspace for the production and research of native plant species.

With a display of tectonic aesthetics and raw material use, the structural refinement aims to provoke a sense of the intangible through the architectural purity.

About

This collaborative housing projects works towards accommodating ecological restoration while maintaining a comfortable environment for the residents.  The adaption of the site topography aims to curate stormwater managment thoughout the site while formulating a simple gestural flow through the site at a pedestrian level.

Importantly this project aims to to connect the resident to their surroundings, allowing a connection to the natural landscape and implementing a sense of belonging, peace and timelessness. These intangible aspects are sadly often lost in todays world,  however I do believe the use of simple construction methodologies and the correct environmental strategies can be effective in bringing back these qualities.
The constructability of my dwellings revolves arounds a simple tectonic framework that enables the buildings to be raised from the landscape minimising the negative environmental impact and ecological damage to the area.

As the building extends across the landscape spatial  variation is formed between the ground and the first floor, this laves room for natural Victorian flora and fauna to prosper while accommodating storm water in areas of lower elevation.

Unit 01: Rammed Earth: Projectoria

Excavation from Melbourne's biggest construction companies is leaving dirt without a destination. Throughout this unit we explored rammed earth prototyping while playing with the idea of minimising waste and upcycling a by product. Further to this the formation of layered texture creates a raw and pleasing aesthetic that connects the built form to the origins of the material.
